Deal Desk 365 needs three things: Dynamics 365 Sales in the environment, a Deal Desk 365 license for every person who opens the app, and at least one Deal Desk security role for each of them.
Environment
- Dynamics 365 Sales must be installed. Deal Desk 365 adds its own tables and columns, its own quote form, and a Deal Desk tab on the Product, Account, and Price List forms; it does not modify Microsoft's components.
- Deal Desk 365 installs into your own Dataverse environment as a managed solution. Your quotes, pricing, and approvals stay in your tenant, and nothing is hosted by Craftware.
- Sovereign clouds (US Government, US Government High, Department of Defense, and China) are not supported.
Licenses
- Deal Desk 365 has one plan, Deal Desk 365 - Named User, with a ten-seat minimum. Monthly and annual billing are two terms on that one plan.
- Every user who opens the Deal Desk app needs a Deal Desk 365 license, whichever role they hold. Seller, Approver, and Administrator are security roles, not separate plans.
- Users also need their existing Dynamics 365 Sales license, or another base Dynamics 365 license that grants Sales access.
- Licenses are assigned in the Microsoft 365 admin center under Billing → Licenses.
Security roles
Deal Desk 365 ships three roles: Deal Desk Seller, Deal Desk Approver, and Deal Desk Administrator. Each user needs at least one of them in addition to their Sales role, and the roles stack. See Roles and permissions.
What you do not need
- A separate CPQ system. Quoting, pricing governance, and discount approval run inside the Sales app your team already uses.
- A product configurator. Deal Desk 365 assembles and approves quotes; it does not do constraint solving or guided selling.
- Any change to Microsoft's pricing. Deal Desk 365 layers on top of standard Sales pricing and governs only the price lists you opt in.
