An Administrator defines pricing rules that set, for a scope of products or customers, a Floor Price, a Max Discount %, and a Min Margin %. When a line's net unit price drops below its resolved floor, the line is flagged in the editor before you submit, so there are no surprises after the fact.
What you see
- The line is flagged as a floor breach inline in the editor, marked Below floor, before you submit.
- The quote as a whole is marked as breaching, and how far it is over the allowed discount is tracked so the right approval tier can be chosen.
What it means for the quote
You can still build and price the quote. The floor is a signal, not a block on editing: submitting a quote that breaches the floor or exceeds the allowed discount routes it for approval rather than stopping you outright. See Submit a quote for approval.
Which rule applies
Each line resolves its floor and maximum discount from the most specific active pricing rule whose effective dates include the quote date and whose scope matches the line's product or product family and the customer's segment and region. If the numbers look wrong, an administrator can check which rule is winning. See Pricing rules.
Floor and discount checks run only on price lists opted in with Govern Pricing. On other price lists, nothing is flagged.
