Generate a quote document

Updated September 15, 2026

To produce a branded quote to send to the customer, generate a Word document from the quote using the Deal Desk Quote template that ships with Deal Desk 365. Generation runs inside your own Dynamics 365 environment; no quote data leaves your tenant and no external service is called.

Generate the document

  1. Open the quote. If it needed approval, wait until its Approval State is Approved so the numbers are final.
  2. On the quote's command bar, open Word Templates and choose Deal Desk Quote.
  3. Dynamics 365 fills the template and gives you the finished Word document to save, print, or attach to an email.

What is in the document

  • The quote header.
  • A table of the quote lines in section order, with a Section column, so the customer reads the quote the way you built it in the line editor.
  • The quote total.

Tips

  • Generate the document after approval, not before. A quote that is Pending Approval is locked, and its numbers may still change if it is rejected and revised. See Submit a quote for approval.
  • Line order in the document follows the section and line sequence on the quote, so reorder in the editor first if the customer should read the lines differently.
