Quote assembly and discount approval for Dynamics 365 Sales. Product overview

Overview

  • What is Deal Desk 365? Deal Desk 365 adds quote templates, sectioned lines, live margin, price floors, and discount approval to Dynamics 365 Sales, with no separate CPQ system.
  • Requirements and licensing for Deal Desk 365 What you need before installing Deal Desk 365: Dynamics 365 Sales, a Deal Desk 365 license for every user (ten-seat minimum), and a Deal Desk security role.

Getting started

Quoting

  • Build a quote from a template Apply a published quote template to a Dynamics 365 Sales quote to get a sectioned line set with default quantities and discounts in seconds, then adjust it.
  • The quote line editor How the Deal Desk 365 line editor replaces the flat quote grid with sections, reordering, keyboard navigation, and a margin column on the Sales quote form.
  • Bulk line entry from Excel Paste rows from a spreadsheet into a Deal Desk 365 quote; lines match on product number first, then name, and unmatched rows are reported, never dropped.
  • See margin as you discount Deal Desk 365 recomputes cost, margin, and margin percent on every line change, so sellers see the impact of a discount before they commit to it.
  • Floor breaches, flagged before you submit What happens when a quote line drops below its floor or over the allowed discount: an inline flag before submit, a quote-level marker, and approval routing.
  • Submit a quote for approval Use Submit for Approval on a Deal Desk 365 quote: inside the guardrails it can auto-approve; a breach routes to an approver team and locks the quote.
  • Generate a quote document Produce a branded Word quote with the Deal Desk Quote template: a header, the line table sorted by section, and the total, generated inside your own tenant.

Approvals

Administration

  • Quote templates Create, publish, and version reusable quote templates in Deal Desk 365, and why publishing a new version never changes quotes already built from the old one.
  • Pricing rules Set floor price, max discount, and min margin with effective-dated Deal Desk 365 pricing rules scoped by product, family, customer segment, or region.
  • Approval policies and escalation (administrators) Define approval tiers in Deal Desk 365: a discount band, the approver team it routes to, escalation hours, a delegate, and how stale requests move up a tier.
  • Turn on automatic approval escalations One-time steps to enable the Deal Desk 365 escalation schedule: create a Dataverse connection, bind the reference, turn on the flow, and verify a run.
  • Approval behavior settings What the Auto-Approve Within Guardrails and Lock Quote While Pending environment variables do, their defaults, and where an administrator changes them.
  • Roles and permissions in Deal Desk 365 What the Deal Desk Seller, Approver, and Administrator roles can see and change, how they stack on one license, and why the Administrator role exists.

Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshooting Deal Desk 365 Fixes for a quote that did not route for approval, blank or 100% margins, skipped bulk-paste rows, a stuck approval, and a user who cannot open the app.
