Build a quote from a template

Updated September 15, 2026

A quote template is a named, reusable line set and the fastest way to a consistent quote: apply one to a new quote and its lines arrive already grouped into sections, with default quantities and discounts set.

Apply a template

  1. In Sales → Quotes, create a New quote and set the customer, price list, and currency as usual.
  2. On the quote, select the Apply Template command and pick a published template (for example, Standard Machining Cell).
  3. The template's lines populate into the quote's sections, with default quantities and discounts already set. A 40-line sectioned quote is ready to adjust in seconds.

Tips

  • Templates are versioned. When an administrator publishes a new version, quotes you already built from the old version are not changed; you keep exactly the lines you sent.
  • Applying a template adds its lines to the quote. You can then reorder, edit, or remove lines and add your own in the quote line editor.
  • Only templates with a status of Published can be applied. If the template you expect is missing, ask an administrator to check its status. See Quote templates.
  • To add many lines that are not in a template, use bulk line entry from Excel.
