Deal Desk 365 replaces the flat quote grid with a line editor on the quote form, built for assembling real quotes quickly: lines are grouped into sections, reorderable, keyboard-navigable, and shown with their margin.
Sections
Sections group related lines the way the customer reads them. Each section has a sequence, and sequences use gaps of 10 so you can insert a line or section without renumbering everything. A template brings its sections with it; you can add your own.
Reordering
Reorder lines and sections directly in the editor. The order you see is the order the quote document uses.
Keyboard navigation
The editor is keyboard-navigable: move between lines and fields without reaching for the mouse.
Adding products
The Add product picker is a flat search by product name or number over your active catalog. Lines must reference a catalog product; free-text write-in lines are not supported, because they would bypass the pricing rules and margin the product exists to enforce. To add many lines at once, paste them with bulk line entry from Excel.
The margin column
A margin column is visible as you work, so profitability is never hidden behind a separate report. See See margin as you discount and Floor breaches.
The editor shows margin, floor, and discount checks only on price lists an administrator has opted in with Govern Pricing. On any other price list the margin cells are blank.
